The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Fleet Operations Manager to join our well established team.  Reporting directly to General Manager Fleet & Maintenance this role is directly responsible for plan, organise and direct functions and activities related to the company workshops including servicing, operation, maintenance and repair company vehicles; coordinate and direct personnel, resources and communications to meet company needs

  • Oversee the Management  of 11 workshop operations across Melbourne to ensure the service expectations are met
  • Plan, document and implement all workshop procedures
  • Manage expenditure targets for all locations
  • Manage all equipment maintenance
  • Manage fleet supplier network including parts and subcontractors
  • Implement OH&S objectives for each site

 What are we looking for?

  • Trade qualification in Technical discipline or Tertiary qualification (preferred)
  • Multiple site workshop/facility manager with numerous years’ experience
  • Excellent planning and organising skills
  • Process driven individual with a strong desire for continuous improvement and consistent practices
  • Sound working understanding of a large fleet and the ability to manage to a large maintenance Budget
  • Strong labour management skills with the ability to influence change
  • Excellent knowledge of best practice heavy vehicle maintenance
  • Good negotiation skills and written communication skills
  • Strong OH&S knowledge base
  • Current HR Drivers Licence
